Lady Covering Face

I created this piece with the intention of focusing on African American hair, more specifically, locks. Though I do not believe “We Are Our Hair,” I do believe that OUR hair, African American hair, speaks volumes when it comes to our culture. This photo represents someone who has fully embraced the natural hair that grows from her scalp. Even though she is covering her face, the health of her hair shows that she is a woman who is not only beautiful, but a woman who takes care of her mind, body, and soul.
